Hello my name is Brenda! I have teamed up with my classmate, Rebecca Loredo, to work on this amazing senior project called Painting Smiles. We want to paint a mural in a children center so that we can get the kids involved and make them happy. This blog will document the progress and step-backs along the way of making Painting Smiles a reality! :)

Make A Wish!!

So... One of the places we would really like to paint the mural in is the Make A Wish Houston Office. We even have a really good idea as to what we could paint. But before we can even think about what to paint we have to ask them if they will give us permission. We have actually tried to make contact with a lady that works there. Rebecca sent her an e-mail and the lady actually called Becca back and left her a voice mail. Last Friday, Becca actually went to Make A Wish but unfortunately she wasn't there. She did get to talk to another lady there that gave us some pretty good information. This lady suggested that we could help Make A Wish come true! She said that there are a lot of little kids that want themed rooms. For example, there is a little girl that wants a Paris themed room and there is also this little boy who wants a soccer themed room. Becca and I were really excited to hear this because if can't find a place to paint we can always help these kids with their wish. And in the end we would still be accomplishing our ultimate goal; painting a smile!

  1. So this is exactly what this project is about. Failing and working from them. I'm not saying you failed, but you couldn't find a place to paint a mural but then there came an alternative that I believe will touch children in a more personal way. This, also, ties in with what you commented on my blog. We will find difficulties and we may believe that are project is done for, but we must keep trying and pushing forward. You never know what my come up.

  2. It's great that you're trying to help make someone else's wish come true, this is a project that truly has the potential to impact a person's life profoundly. I'm glad that you could overcome the obstacles facing you so far. So when do you plan on beginning the actual painting.
